On February 3, 2025, Houlahan expressed support for small businesses as they face increasing costs due to proposed tariffs. She stated: "I'll always support our small businesses, especially as they navigate rising costs of goods due to @POTUS' pending blanket tariffs on products imported from Canada and Mexico. Tariffs will hurt small business owners and raise costs — including fruit for Juice Pod's smoothies."

In another tweet on the same day, she welcomed a new local business in West Reading: "Question: Where do most strawberries bought in the U.S. in February come from? Welcome to the community, the Juice Pod! On Saturday, this juice bar and cafe opened on Penn Ave in West Reading. I met with owner John and his son Jadon to learn more about their business." The tweet included an engaging question about strawberry imports.

Houlahan also addressed concerns over economic impacts linked to tariff policies initiated by former President Trump. She urged constituents to voice their worries directly to the White House: "President Trump's tariffs will hurt every level of our economy.
