Doylestown Health recently issued the following announcement.
Doylestown Hospital again earned national recognition for quality and patient safety in the delivery of stroke and cardiovascular care, including several awards from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and the American College of Cardiology.
From the American College of Cardiology, Doylestown Hospital received:
- NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award
- Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award and Target: StrokeSM Honor Roll Elite
- Heart Failure Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: Heart Failure Honor Roll Award
- Resuscitation Gold Plus Award (Adult)
- NSTEMI Gold Achievement Award
- STEMI Receiving Center Gold Plus Achievement Award
Doylestown Hospital received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain— MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2020. Doylestown Hospital is one of only 140 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor.
To receive the Chest Pain—MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award, Doylestown Hospital demonstrated sustained achievement in the Chest Pain—MI Registry for two consecutive years (2018 and 2019), and performed at the highest level for specific performance measures. Full participation in the registry engages hospitals in a robust quality improvement process using data to drive improvements in adherence to guideline recommendations and overall quality of care provided to heart attack patients.
Doylestown Hospital received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.
Doylestown Hospital also received the Association’s Target: StrokeSM Honor Roll Elite award. To qualify for this recognition, hospitals must meet quality measures developed to reduce the time between the patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with the clot-buster tissue plasminogen activator, or tPA, the only drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat ischemic stroke.
Doylestown Hospital also met specific scientific guidelines as a Primary Stroke Center, featuring a comprehensive system for rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients admitted to the emergency department.
In addition, Doylestown Hospital received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensuring heart failure patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines founded in the latest scientific evidence. The goal is speeding recovery and reducing hospital readmissions for heart failure patients.
Doylestown Hospital is also recognized on the association’s Target: Heart FailureSM Honor Roll. Hospitals are required to meet specific criteria that improves medication adherence, provides early follow-up care and coordination and enhances patient education. The goal is to reduce hospital readmissions and help patients improve their quality of life in managing this chronic condition.
Doylestown Hospital received the Get With The Guidelines®-Resuscitation Gold Plus Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer cardiac arrests in the hospital. Doylestown Hospital received the award for meeting specific measures in treating adult patients who suffer in-hospital cardiac arrests in the hospital. To receive this award a hospital must comply with the quality measures for one year.
Doylestown Hospital received the Mission: Lifeline® NSTEMI Gold Quality Achievement Award and the Mission: Lifeline® Gold Plus Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks. Doylestown Hospital earned the award by meeting specific criteria and standards of performance for the quick and appropriate treatment of NSTEMI heart attack patients by providing emergency procedures to re-establish blood flow to blocked arteries.
