On February 20, 2025, Houlahan criticized the current administration's approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion. She highlighted a community member's experience: "The administration's attack on diversity, equity, and inclusion will have consequences across our district. Community member Joanna J. shared how the attacks on people with disabilities harm her sons and puts them at greater disadvantage."
