BSHS students involved in DECA and the Eagle Business Academy recently had the opportunity to hear from two guest speakers, Gina Zo and Alex M. Susskind.Gina Zo, an aluma, appeared on NBC's "The Voice" after graduation, and spoke about her path since her big performance and her current role as a musician and entrepreneur. She shared her experiences taking risks, branding yourself, and making connections.Alex M. Susskind is the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Cornell University's School of Hotel Management. He earned his undergraduate degree at Purdue University in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management and is also a trained chef with a degree in Culinary Arts from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He has worked in Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration in the Department of Food and Beverage Management since 1998. Mr. Susskind shared details about his experience in the hospitality industry and being passionate about what you want to do in life.Students who are enrolled in the Eagle Business Academy participate in DECA, take business classes, attend the speaker series, and complete their Capstone Project in order to earn their Eagle Business Academy Certificate at graduation.
