UNIVERSITY OF VALLEY FORGE: Virtual Christmas at Valley Forge Recap

Holiday

University of Valley Forge issued the following announcement.

The University of Valley Forge’s annual Christmas at Valley Forge concert was – in true 2020 fashion – a little different this year. The talented students and dedicated faculty at UVF worked extremely hard to practice, perform, and record various pieces of the beloved annual Christmas at Valley Forge concert to be enjoyed virtually via both UVF’s YouTube channel and Facebook livestream. Professors of music Dr. William DeSanto and Professor Lee Bilotta hosted the virtual concert, interacting with viewers on the stream, sharing stories and memories from concerts past, and celebrating the Reason for the Season. Over 1,000 viewers tuned in via YouTube and almost 7,000 viewers via Facebook.

The concert featured pieces performed by the UVF wind ensemble, University Choir, and small vocal ensemble, along with a beautiful compilation of video from past years of the choir singing the “Hallelujah” chorus from Handel’s Messiah to finish the evening: the nostalgia and veneration of which was a beautiful flourish and nod of appreciation to those who’ve participated in Christmas at Valley Forge. Special thanks also goes to the Media Production Team and the Digital Media Department for their hardwork in recording and producing the virtual concert for everyone to enjoy.

If you were able to watch the concert, we hope you enjoyed it!
