FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Dekalb County. The request, dated September 26, 2024, seeks access to records detailing all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024 till the date of the request.
Specifically, we are asking for a list that includes the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and amount for each payment. This information is critical in holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
As a media organization committed to gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe access to such public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We also consider ourselves eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals given our role in disseminating information.
We await a positive response from Dekalb County as we continue our work in ensuring transparency and accountability in local government affairs.
