First, we want to personally thank everyone who helped out from donating, to promoting, as well as to anyone who got their hands dirty with cleaning up the Kerr Park/Sky’s the Limit Playground.

As some background, Kerr Park’s playground, and many of the other park amenities, were extensively damaged by Ida in late 2021.

P&R wanted to do our part and immediately began the process of fundraising via Go Fund Me. Through your generosity we were able to raise $6K in donations for the playground!! Which we are super pumped about!!

But unfortunately there was a reality check… After an evaluation of the playground from Downingtown’s Public Works Team (who manages the parks) the extent of damage and costs for repair came in over $200K! At that point, Public Works team reached out to FEMA for funds and the waiting game began.

As of late last night, I am very happy to report that FEMA has approved the funding to fix the playground flooring (the main cost)! The one caveat being that with supply chain issues still echoing from the impact of Covid 19 the necessary materials, labor, and parts are taking longer to secure. Please note that Public Works is doing their best to build out a formal timeline for when we should expect the work to begin.

Once we have that detail we will share immediately.

After today, we will end our fundraising via the Go Fund Me page. We want to again personally thank everyone who helped out - from our amazing Public Works team, Moms of Multiples, local philanthropist, and the amazing Downingtown community of park goers.

Fingers crossed we will be pushing our kids on those swings in the near future.
