City of Coatesville issued the following announcement on Oct. 5.
Good Afternoon Coatesville!
Ok we have a follow up to last week’s announcement regarding the use of the Instant Ticket.
We are looking for two part time individuals to join the Codes Department as Quality of Life Codes Inspectors. We feel we need to staff up to be able to do what we plan to do in order to bring the City into a cleaner, safer environment going forward.
The primary role is to travel around the city and perform field inspections of properties that may need to be corrected and fall within the Codes Department responsibility. These individuals will need at a minimum – a valid driver’s license, High School diploma or higher education level, good communication skills (written and verbal), good computer skills with knowledge of varying software programs (Word, Excel etc), and the ability to learn and interpret Coatesville code ordinances.
The candidate must understand that 80% of the role is outside work even in the winter. There also will be many physical aspects such as sitting, standing, walking, lifting (up to 25 pounds). This role will be an opportunity to meet the citizens of the city so it is also an ambassador for Coatesville. The remaining time is spent in the office writing up daily reports and follow up action items.
Ideally we would like to find a candidate(s) who can be flexible in their hours, work the occasional weekend as many folks are out and about in the city on those days. Time expectations are about 18 hours per week for two positions with flexible scheduling. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to take on a second job or a person looking for work around child care concerns or school bus hours.
The full job description will be available on our website and in the lobby of City hall. (8:30am to 4:30pm)
If you would like to submit your resume please send it to our Human Resources Head at Lgrant@coatesville.org
Thank you
