East Town Township issued the following announcement.
Township buildings and facilities remain closed until April 30,2020. All Township meetings are cancelled with the exception of the Board of Supervisors meeting on April 20,2020. The Supervisors meeting will be held in a virtual meeting format: more information and details will be posted next week.
Police Officers, as well as fire and EMS personnel, will continue to respond to calls as normal while taking every precaution to protect themselves and the public.
Sewer and Trash services will continue without any interruptions. The only change is that bulk pick-up will stop until further notice. Trash bills went out last week and we are processing them as they are received. You will notice that the payment due date has been extended until June 30, 2020
The parks in the Township are open for passive use; however, all playgrounds, basketball courts, and restrooms are closed until further notice.
We encourage all residents to practice safe and responsible social distancing. We understand that these are challenging times, and we are in uncharted territory. This will require cooperation, flexibility, and patience. And, everyone has a role to play. The Township operations will function, but in a much more limited capability: emails and phone calls will be responded too. Emergency Services and vital public services will NOT be affected.
We encourage all residents to sign up for the Township’s emergency communication system (Blackboard) so that, if necessary, we can get information to you immediately. Please click on the link: https://easttowntownshipalert.bbcportal.com/ and signup.
You can also send an email to easttown@easttown.org to be placed on the Township’s mailing list which is used to send out general announcements. We encourage all residents to stay informed and stay safe.
The Township will be providing weekly updates and, if warranted, immediate notification as events unfold.
