On Thursday, May 8, former Coatesville Area Senior High School standout Emma Friel’s current collegiate team the Goldey-Beacom Lightning won 7-5 against the Bridgeport Purple Knights in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship.

The game took place at Jackson Athletic Complex at 1:30 p.m. and was the first matchup against the Bridgeport Purple Knights in the tournament.

The Goldey-Beacom Lightning’s next game will take place on Friday, May 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Jackson Athletic Complex.
