U.S. Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan, representing Pennsylvania’s 6th district since 2019, shared a series of statements this week addressing critical events and concerns. Born in Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, in 1967, Houlahan has been active in domestic issues, underscoring the importance of safety, healthcare, and democratic principles.

On April 13, Houlahan expressed her relief on social media that Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, along with Lori and their family, were safely evacuated. She extended her gratitude to emergency personnel for their quick response efforts. She stated, “I am so relieved that @GovernorShapiro, Lori, and the family were evacuated and are safe. Thank you to the first responders who got there quickly.”

The following day, April 14, Houlahan addressed concerns regarding veteran care within her community. She revealed in her tweet that she had spoken with veterans troubled by reductions in services due to workforce changes at the VA. The veterans are deeply concerned about increased wait times and reduced healthcare access. Houlahan noted, “I was grateful but also heartbroken to talk recently with veterans in our community who are reeling from the cuts to the VA. They are angry about longer wait times and reduced access to healthcare services.”

Later that evening, Houlahan conveyed warnings about threats to democratic institutions. Emphasizing bipartisan accountability, she urged Americans to reject actions by any presidential figures who defy Supreme Court rulings, indicating the potential harm such conduct could pose to democracy’s integrity. Houlahan stated, “Regardless of party or policy preference, Americans must reject the actions of an American President willfully ignoring and defying our Supreme Court. This is a grave danger to democracy itself.”

Her responses exemplify her ongoing commitment to pressing issues impacting her constituents and the broader U.S. populace.

Chrissy Houlahan has served in the U.S. Congress, representing Pennsylvania`s 6th District, since 2019.
