Chrissy Houlahan, a U.S. Congress member representing Pennsylvania’s 6th district since 2019, recently took to social media to discuss several pressing issues. Her recent series of tweets span topics from educational funding to legislative efforts to protect LGBTQI+ rights.
On April 28, 2025, Houlahan shared her visit to the partially completed Reading High School Innovation Academy building alongside Senator Judy Schwank and Jenni Murray. The Trump Administration illegally clawed back $51 million allocated by Congress for this project, leaving us on the hook to”, she highlighted an issue regarding the project’s funding, alleging that the Trump Administration had retracted $51 million that Congress had allocated for the development.
On April 29, 2025, Houlahan pointed to a wider political critique with a link labeled “100 Days of Chaos, in President Trump’s Own Words” “100 Days of Chaos, in President Trump’s Own Words”. Although she did not provide additional context in the tweet, the message seems to reflect her position and views on the former administration.
Subsequently, on the same day, Houlahan announced her involvement in reintroducing legislation aimed at securing rights for LGBTQI+ individuals. She stated, “Today with my colleagues on the @EqualityCaucus we reintroduced the #EqualityAct to ensure LGBTQI+ Americans are not discriminated against in employment, housing, education and more. Every American deserves equal protection under our laws, regardless of who they are and who they”. This renewal of the #EqualityAct aims to eliminate discrimination in various aspects of life for LGBTQI+ Americans.
Houlahan, a Stanford University graduate, was born in 1967 at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland and currently resides in Devon. She continues to serve her constituents with a focus on equality and justice.
