Chrissy Houlahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Pennsylvania’s 6th district since 2019, marked the fifth anniversary of the January 6 Capitol riot and raised concerns about vaccine misinformation in a series of posts on her official social media account.
On January 6, 2026, Houlahan posted about the anniversary of the Capitol attack, referencing a recent documentary produced by NPR. She wrote, “Today is the fifth anniversary of the largest assault on democracy in our nation’s history. NPR invited two former police officers present during the riot to review their bodycam footage from the day. The resulting documentary is compelling and shows the truth about what happened” (January 6, 2026).
Later that same day, Houlahan addressed congressional efforts to honor law enforcement officers who defended the Capitol on January 6. She stated, “In 2022, Congress passed legislation approving a plaque honoring the law enforcement officers who protected the Capitol on January 6 and requiring its installation. After years of dodging and deflecting, Speaker Johnson said just yesterday that the plaque is ‘not implementable.'” (January 6, 2026).
The following day, Houlahan turned her attention to public health issues related to vaccines. She posted: “Because of mis- and disinformation, trust in vaccines is at an all-time low and families are unsure how to sift through the changing guidance. This is putting American kids at risk. I urge you to talk with your doctor directly to get the most sound advice for your family’s” (January 7, 2026).
Houlahan has represented Pennsylvania’s 6th District since replacing Ryan Costello in Congress in 2019. Born in Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland in 1967 and currently residing in Devon, she graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1989.
