Chrissy Houlahan, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Pennsylvania’s 6th district since 2019, addressed issues ranging from abuse survivors to local agriculture and veterans’ rights in a series of social media posts on September 5, 2025.
In her first post of the day, Houlahan described a meeting with survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. She wrote, “Those of us on the Democratic Women’s Caucus Executive Steering Committee had a chance to sit down with a group of incredibly brave survivors who endured horrific abuse at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. I am grateful for the time they gave us, and for their” (September 5, 2025).
Later that afternoon, Houlahan celebrated National Mushroom Month by highlighting Chester County’s role in mushroom production. She posted, “September is National Mushroom Month! And anybody who knows their mushrooms knows that the best ones come from Chester County, PA. This weekend is the 40th annual mushroom festival in Kennett Square–also known as the Mushroom Capital of the World. To celebrate, I asked my staff” (September 5, 2025).
In her third post that evening, Houlahan criticized Trump administration officials regarding abortion policies affecting veterans. She stated, “The same Trump officials who say they are “leaving abortion up to the states” are exploiting the power of the federal government to roll back rights for American veterans. I’m proud to join @DemWomenCaucus, @ReproCaucus, @VetAffairsDems, and @SVACDems in urging the Trump” (September 5, 2025).
Chrissy Houlahan has served in Congress since succeeding Ryan Costello in 2019. Born in Maryland in 1967 and currently residing in Devon, she holds a BS from Stanford University earned in 1989.
