On April 3, 2025, Houlahan criticized the decision to dismiss the entire staff of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). She described this action as “an attack on everyday Americans struggling against rising energy costs.” She highlighted the program’s importance, stating, “LIHEAP helped over 300K households in Pennsylvania stay warm and keep energy bills low last season.” Houlahan called on the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) to “reverse the firings, protect our families.”
