Chrissy Houlahan, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Pennsylvania’s 6th district since 2019, has recently expressed her views on several national issues through social media. Born in 1967 at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, Houlahan is a Stanford University graduate who currently resides in Devon.
On May 9, 2025, Houlahan criticized the dismissal of Carla Hayden from her position as Librarian of Congress. She stated that “The firing last night of the Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden–the first woman and first non-white person to hold the job–is another shameful stain on this administration.” The tweet further challenged the President’s stance on literature suitable for Americans.
Later that day, she commented on recent actions by the Trump administration in an episode titled “Law(less) + (Dis)Order(ly).” In her words: “None of these actions make our country safer or citizens more prosperous, but here are some of the things the Trump administration delivered this week: President Trump threatened to end the program designed to expand high-speed internet.”
On May 11, 2025, Houlahan shared a personal message reflecting on motherhood. She expressed gratitude towards her mother and joy at being a mother herself. She noted: “I am so grateful to my mother, and to be a mother of three myself. As one of my daughters celebrates her first Mother’s Day today, I’m reminded anew how powerful the bonds of motherhood are and wish all the moms a very happy Mother’s Day!”
Chrissy Houlahan’s career in Congress began when she succeeded Ryan Costello in 2019. At age 55, she continues to reside in Devon while serving her constituents.
