Chrissy Houlahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Pennsylvania’s 6th district since 2019, has recently addressed a range of policy and community issues through her social media posts.
On February 19, 2026, Houlahan commented on veterans’ benefits, stating: “Public pressure works – and veterans’ voices matter. While this is a good start, the rule should be reversed entirely. We should be working to expand veteran benefits instead of finding ways to deny care.” She highlighted the importance of advocacy in shaping policies affecting veterans.
Later that same day, she raised concerns about government transparency regarding economic research. In a post dated February 19, 2026, Houlahan wrote: “The administration is threatening to ‘discipline’ nonpartisan researchers at the Fed for publishing an analysis showing Americans are paying 90% of the cost of President Trump’s tariffs. Not only is the President telling you to not believe your eyes, he and his Cabinet are”. The statement references ongoing debates about the impact of tariffs and administrative responses to economic analyses.
On February 20, 2026, Houlahan invited students and educators from her district to participate in a national event: “Calling all high school students and art teachers! Do you live in the 6th District of Pennsylvania? If so, you are invited to participate in the Congressional Art Competition! This is an amazing opportunity to show the nation your creative talents. A committee of judges will”.
Houlahan has represented Pennsylvania’s 6th District since replacing Ryan Costello in 2019. Born in Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland in 1967 and currently residing in Devon, she graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1989.
