Chrissy Houlahan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 6th district since 2019, has used her social media platform to address recent developments in military policy, health care legislation, and free speech concerns.

On January 9, 2026, Houlahan referenced comments made by Secretary Hegseth regarding women in combat roles. She posted: “Secretary Hegseth has long believed that women are unfit to hold combat positions. He explicitly said so in 2024: ‘I’m straight up saying we should not have women in combat roles.’ That’s why he is calling for a review–which has already been done. I’ll summarize the Army’s https://t.co/wJlPdclodp”.

Later that day, she addressed bipartisan action on health insurance premium tax credits: “17 GOP lawmakers joined House Democrats in voting for a three-year extension on ACA premium tax credits – delivering on what nearly 80% of Americans want. This is a huge step toward ensuring 22 million people can continue to afford health insurance, but we aren’t out of the woods https://t.co/0UlwEmgnio” (January 9, 2026).

In an additional post dated January 9, 2026, Houlahan commented on free speech and political pressure: “I stand with Senator Kelly and with the United States Constitution. We cannot and will not allow this President and his administration intimidate us into silence. We Americans must be able to exercise free speech and speak truth to power. https://t.co/FT02LFgM5z”.

Houlahan was born at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland in 1967 and currently resides in Devon. She earned her undergraduate degree from Stanford University in 1989.
