Chrissy Houlahan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 6th district since 2019, addressed several policy and historical issues in a series of social media posts on February 20, 2026.
In her first post at 15:42 UTC, Houlahan commented on the rising costs of family care: “Childcare and elder care costs are astronomical and out of reach for many Americans. Later that day at 17:55 UTC, she referenced a Supreme Court decision regarding Congressional authority over fiscal matters: “The Supreme Court has affirmed what we have known all along: the power of the purse lies with the Congress. It’s time for the Trump administration to face facts and end this chaotic tax on the American people.”
At 20:28 UTC, Houlahan marked Black History Month by highlighting the NAACP’s contributions to voting rights activism: “Black History Month allows us to reflect on the NCAACP’s activism that aided in guaranteeing all citizens the right to vote. The NAACP continues to fight to ensure the right to vote is upheld, understanding that voting is essential to a well-functioning democracy.”
Houlahan succeeded Ryan Costello in Congress in 2019 and currently resides in Devon. She was born in Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland in 1967 and graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1989.
