Chrissy Houlahan, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Pennsylvania’s 6th district since 2019, addressed several policy issues in a series of tweets on April 14, 2026.
In her first post, Houlahan highlighted the challenges Pennsylvanians face with rising energy costs and the barriers to adopting clean energy solutions. She wrote, “As energy costs continue to rise, clean energy projects like solar can provide relief. But for many Pennsylvanians, the cost to install these projects in their homes, businesses, and places of worship is an obstacle. Later that day, Houlahan criticized current federal leadership and Republican lawmakers over foreign policy and domestic enforcement agencies. She stated, “The President is waging an unauthorized and unpopular war of choice. The Republican majority refuses to vote on a war powers resolution to rein him in. ICE, his paramilitary force, is operating unchecked against American citizens. Inflation is up, employment is down and Americans” (April 14, 2026).
Addressing tax policy regarding tipped workers, Houlahan sought to clarify recent changes: “Myth Busting 101: Let’s get the record straight on the President’s ‘no tax on tips.’ Under last year’s Republican budget, eligible workers can temporarily deduct a portion of their tipped wages from federal income tax. Because this is for federal taxes only, employers and” (April 14, 2026).
Houlahan has represented Pennsylvania’s 6th District since replacing Ryan Costello in Congress in 2019. Born at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland in 1967 and currently residing in Devon at age 55, she graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1989.
