Chrissy Houlahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Pennsylvania’s 6th district since 2019, addressed her constituents on social media this week regarding affordability, public health, and tax policy.
On April 8, Houlahan invited residents to participate in discussions about economic challenges facing the district. She posted, “It’s time to put affordability into action – join me this spring as I travel across the district to hear directly from you about costs and how we can bring them down.” (April 8, 2026).
Later that day, she acknowledged the efforts of public health professionals during National Public Health Week. In her post she stated, “National Public Health Week is a time to pause and recognize the contributions of those who work to advance public health. From biotechnology and environmental health, to health education, disease prevention, and beyond – we appreciate all of your work!” (April 8, 2026).
On April 9, Houlahan commented on upcoming tax changes linked to previous budget decisions by Congressional Republicans. She wrote: “Tax Day is closing in and, thanks to last year’s Republican budget, taxes will increase for the middle 60% of Americans. But for the wealthiest Americans? $1 trillion in cuts over the next decade and over $4.6 trillion added to the national debt. We need policies that support…” (April 9, 2026).
Houlahan has served as a representative since replacing Ryan Costello in 2019. Born at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland in 1967 and currently residing in Devon at age 55, she graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1989.
